Kettle & Fire Bone Broth Review - Ingredients, Quality, & How to Use It.

I’ve always preferred making my own bone broth from scratch, but it’s not always the most convenient option. That’s why I looked for the next best option, and luckily, I found something suitable.

What is Bone Broth?

Bone broth is a flavorful, nutrient-packed liquid made by simmering animal bones (like beef, chicken, lamb, pork, or fish) and connective tissues in water for several hours, usually 18-24. This slow-cooking process helps draw out good stuff like collagen, amino acids, and minerals.

I use it as a base for soups, stews, and sauces, or to just sip it on its own. It’s great to have on hand for reheating leftovers on the stovetop too.

Is Bone Broth Keto-Friendly?

Bone broth is a keto-friendly staple you can regularly enjoy without being concerned about stalling fat loss or bumping you out of ketosis. Bone broth is great for a low-carb keto diet, paleo, whole30, and many other wellness diet types.

Not only is bone broth nutrient-dense with significant amounts of essential amino acids, collagen, and gelatin, but it can also help with chronic conditions. Here are the potential benefits of bone broth:

  • Weight management: Bone broth is low in calories but high in protein, which can help you feel full and satisfied for longer periods. Its rich nutrient profile also supports a balanced diet, which can make it a great addition to weight management plans.
  • Better hydration: Bone broth is an excellent source of electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, and magnesium, which are crucial for maintaining proper hydration. Drinking bone broth can help replenish these essential minerals, especially after intense exercise or during hot weather.
  • Improved sleep: Bone broth contains glycine. According to the Sleep Foundation, glycine can help promote sleep by lowering body temperature and increasing serotonin. Plus, the warmth of bone broth can make it easier to fall asleep.
  • Reduced joint pain: The collagen and gelatin in bone broth support joint health by providing the building blocks needed to maintain and repair cartilage. Regular consumption of bone broth may help reduce joint pain and stiffness, especially in individuals with conditions like osteoarthritis, says the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation.
  • Minimizing inflammation: Bone broth contains anti-inflammatory amino acids like glycine and proline, which can help reduce inflammation in the body.

The benefits make much more sense when we take a look at the nutrition facts. Take beef bone broth, for example. Here are the key nutrients in beef bone broth according to the USDA:

Kettle and Fire Bone Broth + Keto Soups

The only way to make a quality broth is by simmering a large pot of bones submerged in hot water over a long period of time. I’m talking about 18 to 24 hours on the stovetop or in a slow cooker. This seemingly endless process produces a deep golden elixir with many important nutrients and minerals.

Each batch of bone broth takes time, prep, and planning. For these reasons, I think bone broth is a food where the homemade, from-scratch approach prevents a lot of people from ever trying it.

Here’s where Kettle and Fire saves the day by offering ready-made, high-quality, shelf-stable bone broth. You can still get all the benefits of chicken and beef bone broth without the hassle of making it! Kettle and Fire broths can save you hours of simmering without sacrificing flavor or nutrient quality.

Unfortunately, not all broths you find in stores are the same. Most brands have a thin product that’s just stock or regular broth. Putting the “bone” in bone broth is a unique treat that makes a world of difference in flavor and, most importantly, nutritional quality.

You also have to read the ingredient list and look out for MSG, excessive sodium content, preservatives, and artificial flavors with other brands. Yuck! Here’s why Fire and Kettle is the healthiest option.

Nutritious

Bone broth, especially if it’s made with pasture-raised animals, is incredibly nutritious. For one, one and a half cups of beef bone broth contains about ten grams of protein. It’s also rich in collagen, which is essential for maintaining healthy joints, ligaments, and tendons, supporting your gut health, and promoting radiant skin.

As I’ve mentioned, you can also get a healthy dose of amino acids with each serving. Bone broth contains glycine and proline, which are important for healthy skin. It’s also a rich source of arginine, which the body needs to make proteins for blood circulation.

Bone broth is also a great source of potassium, which is important for the normal functioning of all the cells in your body. For Kettle and Fire’s bone broth, you’ll get about 190mg of potassium per serving.

Let’s not forget magnesium, which helps regulate nerve and muscle function, and phosphorus, which is a must for healthy bones. Also, since bone broth is made from bones, you’ll get a healthy dose of calcium for strong bones, healthy teeth, and a normal nervous system.

Delicious

Even if you drink it plain, bone broth is incredibly flavorful. The broth itself is packed with great taste, but it’s also enhanced by other ingredients like vegetables, herbs, and spices.

Ready to eat in seconds

Pre-made bone broth is essentially a convenience food. It’s an easy way to nourish your body, whether you’re at home, at work, or on the go. Kettle and Fire’s intuitive packaging also makes it easy to store in the pantry or take it with you anywhere.

Low carb, keto, paleo, and whole30 approved

Bone broth is low in carbs but high in protein. A single container of Kettle and Fire’s beef bone broth contains 19 grams of protein and zero carbs.

Low sodium options

Kettle and Fire also offers low-sodium options if you’re watching your sodium intake. Their Reduced Sodium Beef Bone Broth contains 370 milligrams of sodium per pack.

Non-GMO, organic ingredients

One of the best things about Kettle and Fire is that they use grass-fed beef and free-range chickens, which means they are healthier to eat because their diets are kept as natural as possible. Kettle and Fire also uses all organic veggies, herbs, and spices for their products.

Kettle and Fire offers a complete line of keto soups too! These are bone broth-based soups in popular flavors ready to serve in minutes which saves a lot of time in meal prep. I highly recommend them as pantry essentials! Butter Curry is a personal favorite, with Mushroom Bisque as a close second.

Kettle and Fire Bone Broth Ingredients

All products are 100% organic. Every broth and soup contains whole foods ingredients with zero chemical add-ins, preservatives, or flavoring agents. For example, their best-selling Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth contains:

  • Grass-fed beef bones
  • Onion
  • Carrots
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Celery
  • Black pepper
  • Sea salt
  • Bay leaves
  • Thyme
  • Rosemary

Their organic chicken bone broth is also a best-seller and my favorite broth to use for chicken noodle soup. The ingredients are:

  • Organic chicken bones
  • Onions
  • Carrots
  • Fennel
  • Leeks
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Shiitake mushroom
  • Garlic
  • Organic vegetable broth
  • Other herbs and spices

If you prefer more unique flavors, they also have Turmeric Ginger Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, Lemongrass Ginger Beef, and so much more. I suggest buying the soup bundle if you’re new to bone broths and not sure which you’ll like the most.

Buy Kettle and Fire.

Our endorsement of their product rests on their integrity, quality standards, and honest appreciation for this heritage food. Kettle and Fire is the closest thing to homemade broth without making it yourself. They are offering some great deals right now too.

Do keep this broth just to yourself, though. While bone broth for dogs is beneficial, they don’t tolerate onion or salt, so you’ll want to buy something different or make a plain batch yourself.
